Let me give you an example.
For the last few months, I have been very busy on different work projects and I have had very little time to work on my own creative stuff and MY DREAMS folder, as I call it. In that folder there are wish lists, to accomplish ideas, endeavors, bits and pieces of entrepreneurial beginnings, half completed blogs, the first chapter of the book I will write one day (;)) … you get the idea!
This week, it has been a little quieter for work and I have been able to take the time to open that MY DREAMS folder! I also browsed through social medias looking for new ideas, read other people’s blog to be inspired, went through websites that were on my to explore list for weeks, tried out some new applications/extensions and tested their possibilities, planned a new website I want to launch, created a few tutorials, had fun with the kids and blogged about it …
The results: I have new tools in my tool box, I have new or updated knowledge from all the reading, I got closer to objectives I have set for myself and I am proud of it and, last, but not least, I feel reenergized for my work projects!
And why? Because I had time to do what I wanted to do. To explore what I felt like exploring. To create what I wanted to create.
I have had the chance to experience a 20% time-like project with a group of students a few years ago and I was astonished by what they accomplished. Strong of all these experiences, I will continue to advocate how rich this time is: it is the best investment you will make in your students, in your staff, in your workers. You will be amazed by what you will see. You will be amazed at how rich it will be for you too!
Dare to try it! Beta mode is good!
Add-on : Just got this in my inbox, what a timing! It’s much more interesting to be in the second column, don’t you think?
